2013 CES SURVIVAL GUIDE FOR FIRST TIME VISITORS

Living in Las Vegas as a professional photographer and restaurant manager, you would think I would get out more... Well, this week the 2013 CES Convention is in town, and Surfdash.com has chosen yours truly to experience consumer electronics' largest expo right here in my back yard!

I've gathered a list for my convention survival guide from a few visitors that have been there every year. And every year CES just keeps getting larger and more massive as it is not only at the LV Convention Center, but also expanding to the Las Vegas Hilton and the Venetian Hotel and Casino. For those who have never been to Vegas. That is a quarter length of the Las Vegas Strip!

CES SURVIVAL GUIDE LIST:

Cross Trainers.
(Comfortable walking shoes)
Sure, it's professional to wear business casual attire; however, walking around in heals or even Converse will make you regret life after an 8 hour day.

Headphones + MP3 player.
With all the release of celebrity headphones like Snooki's rhinestone studded earmuffs, don't think you'll be getting a pair. CES is just a sound wave of electronics and people talking with the background of random noises.

• Light backpack.
Many conventions like to give out a lot of free material like magazines and random goodie bags. You won't have enought space in your arms to carry it all. I'll be bringing my Dakine day bag!

• Camera
It doesn't matter if your iPhone has a panorama setting. You don't want to use up your precious battery. There will be so much stuff to look at that you regret to bringing at least a point and shoot. As for myself- my date for the day is my Nikon D300s.

• 2013 CES mobile App
wi-if should be available everywhere (can't talk highly of your calling out reception though) To every survival guide there is always a map. In this case, a floor plan of where different electronics are divided and where the closes restrooms are at. Along with all schedules and live news feeds are posted.

WATER!
It may be chilly in Vegas this time around, but staying hydrated should be a definite everyday habit. Drink at least a 16oz water before you head out or you will feel like jerky while you are there. I'd bring a water bottle from my own fridge and drink it through out the day and either I'll refill it at a water fountain or just go to Starbucks and get the bigger than venti great tasting filtered water. FYI there is a Starbucks every few steps in Vegas lol

STAY TUNED AS I CONTINUE THIS BLOG ALL DAY!
